A Rural Ramble at it's best: the tastes of Huron County's food will keep you coming back for more and find your favourites among the many locations that offer their very best to you. Follow the rural routes to farms and communities that celebrate the best in foods - fresh from the field to the fork in some cases! With soils that make Huron County one of the most productive in Ontario and a leader in innovation and technology, it's no wonder that you'll delight in the fresh harvest of seasonal fruits, vegetables, fish, maple products, organic meats and even chocolate too. Farm vendors at the markets show their pride in locally grown foods and share their tips for preparation. You'll find fruits and vegetables of course, but added to that list of farm fresh is wool, yarn and blankets, lambskins and sweater kits, nursery stock, hanging baskets, maple syrup and candies. There are specialty food shops that feature the finest in the region's food suppliers with chef-quality prepared foods and artisanal cheese and foodstuffs. Give in to the urge to share the bounty of the harvest you'll find on the shelves and at the farm gates along our countryside and coastline. Many producers listed in this section are also vendors at our Farm and Vendor Markets.
