Walking Tour # 1

Take a step back in time with the Exeter and District Heritage
Foundation and hear stories about the Town’s early “entrepreneurs”
– some of whom hung out their “Open For Business” signs more than
a century and half ago. Many of the original 19th century buildings
with their strong architectural details and interesting facades still
stand today, creating a wonderful Victorian streetscape for Exeter’s
downtown “Heritage District”. We look forward to sharing some history
– and perhaps an anecdote or two – about the early Main Street
merchants who recognized the community’s retail potential!
