Connect with growers, producers, chefs and buyers, get involved in local food events in your region, learn how culinary tourism can grow your business!
Farmers, chefs, restaurateurs, retailers, distributors and accommodators from across Huron and Perth Counties are gathering together to develop local partnerships, share ideas about culinary and agri-tourism and learn best practices through networking.
A full day of sessions begins with a keynote address focused on Culinary Tourism and Local Food trends. The “Speed dating” session will take place where farmers will be stationed at tables around the room featuring their products and information as chefs and buyers circulate and interact with the farmers.
A local lunch will be served as round table discussions encourage further dialogue around local food.
In the afternoon break-out sessions will be offered for both partners in the local food value chain – the growers, processors and producers, as well as the chefs, restaurateurs, distribution companies, buyers and processors.
The day will finish with “next steps” for our region to move culinary tourism and local food partnerships forward.
This project is funded in part through the Agricultural Management Institute (AMI). The AMI is part of the Best Practices Suite of programs for Growing Forward, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative.
The Summit is a project coordinated in partnership with Perth Community Futures Development Corporation, Savour Stratford Perth County and the Stratford Tourism Alliance, The County of Perth, Perth County Visitors Association, County of Huron Huron Perth Farm to Table, Huron Business Development Corporation, Local Community Food Centre.
