15-minute Lunchtime Meditation

Take 15 minutes to start your lunchtime with a peaceful meditation.

Contact Jennifer Reaburn at jreaburn@rrhc.on.ca for more information.

One-Hour Guided Meditation Class

In this format about 50-55 minutes of class time will be for laying down (you can also sit) listening and following along to the guided instructions. This is a form of Vipassana meditation. As classes are hosted thru Zoom, we recommend finding a comfortable spot in your home to participate.

Vipassana” is a gentle- yet- thorough technique of meditation. It is an observation based, self-exploratory journey that focuses on deep inter-connection between the mind & body, which is realized through disciplined attention to the physical sensations.

Exeter Massage Therapy will be offering 1hr Meditation Classes at 9am and 7pm beginning mid-January. Cost $80 for 8 week course (classes once a week). Please reach out to exeter.rmt@gmail.com with the time that you prefer and we will be more then happy to add you to the class list.

FREE Meditation & Mindfulness Workshop

Hygge life promotes a lifestyle that brings calmness and comfort into busy daily lives. Putting mindfulness and meditation into our Hygge lives teaches us how to release our stress and negativity, bringing calmness to the chaos.

The Blue Owl Meditation groups meet virtually every Wednesday, 1:00-2:00 pm or 8:00-9:00 pm, so grab a furry blanket or cozy pj’s and log onto the “Huron Library Meditation Invitation” shared in your email and let the Hygge begin!

Hygge and meditation are life-long practices, the groups meet free of charge, are on-going with new participants joining in regularly. Meditators share that participating in our group and “sitting” together builds belonging.

Start this week, send a text or email to Janie van Essen, host and mentor of this Vipassana style mediation, to receive the Zoom invites via email each Wednesday.

Huron Wrister Kits

Needlework is a lovely way to spend a winter’s afternoon. Knit up a bit of the county with the Huron Wristers Kit! This kit is a unique reflection of the natural resources, history, and creativity found in Huron County.

Inspired by a pair of historical gloves from the collections at the Huron County Museum, Sharlene Young-Bolen, from Stitch Revival Studio, developed the knitting pattern for the Huron Wristers Kit. Wristers are fingerless mitts that are perfect for activities where you need your fingers free. Sharlene collaborated with fibre producer Margaret Steel of Steele Wool Farm, who provided the worsted yarn for the kits, and with Jennifer Triemstra-Johnston, who dyed the yarn with colours cultivated from the FACTS gardens.

Kits can be purchased online at Huron Wrister Kits.
