Museums & Attractions
is established on land first settled in 1838 by the Jenkins family. The Centre was established by Gord & Paula Lobb to honour Edward Jenkins. The Centre consists of several areas: an arboretum, a nut grove and many nature trails. These areas are available for use by members of the community as well as for use by elementary and secondary school students involved in environmental programs. The arboretum has over 120 native and Carolinian trees organized and planted into groups according to their leaf composition. Signs identify all the groups of trees. The nut grove serves well as a study area and provides food for the numerous and varied wildlife of the area. The nature trails pass through several areas of natural vegetation for the enjoyment of the visitor, including uplands, lowlands, meadows, wetlands and a pond. Woodlands is an Audubon Society recognized site. #37858
