Museums & Attractions
Established in 1965, the Bayfield Historical Society's mandate is to collect, record and preserve local history.
A new Heritage Centre is located in the 1893 historic building at 20 Main Street North in Bayfield and the recently renovated and expanded Archives room is now housed in the adjacent former Bayfield Library building.
The Heritage Centre will be open to the public Wednesdays to Sundays from Victoria Day through to Labour day and the Archives building will be staffed from 1 - 4 pm on Wed. and Sat or by appointment. Self guided tour booklet ($5) available at the Heritage Centre and at the Village Bookshop at 24 Main. St. N. Group guided walking tours by appointment.
The Society holds regular monthly meetings featuring interesting speakers and topics. All are welcome to attend the fourth Monday of each month at 7:30 pm (Feb. to Nov.) at the Lions Community Building at 6 Municipal Road.
