Electric vehicle chargers

Ontario’s transportation network is changing quickly. In an effort to reduce harmful greenhouse gases from vehicle emissions, municipalities are promoting increased electric vehicle ownership by improving the availability of public charging stations.

In 2021, the County of Huron received funding through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) to install electric vehicle chargers. Huron County will be receiving 14 Level 2 electric vehicle chargers with 26 individual charging ports distributed across various locations within the participating municipalities. Installation of the chargers is expected to begin in fall 2021.
