STARGAZING
When we turn out the lights on Ontario’s West Coast, it gets dark. Real dark. Whether you want to wish upon a star, identify the constellations, or navigate by the North Star, you have a galaxy of opportunities to gaze off into space while sitting around the campfire.
LOOK, WAY UP HERE:
Head to any of our public beaches and lay back on a blanket and watch the sky over the lake. We especially recommend this activity during the annual Perseid meteor shower which peak in August each year.
GEEK OUT AT A STAR PARTY.
All astronomers and anyone of any age that is interested in astronomy is invited to come to one of the West Coast Astronomers’ star parties.
HAVE A HURON COUNTY LIBRARY CARD?
Check out one of the Meade Mini LightBridge 130 Tabletop Telescopes from their catalogue and see the stars and galaxies close-up.
